Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, we are unable to bring you our usual programme of activity for Northumberland Day 2020. However, what we do have are some competitions and a special image for you to share on social media. Head to our 2020 Zone page to find these. You will also find two education packs on our Education page, which you can use with your children whilst home schooling or just wanting to know more about Northumberland.

Haydon Bridge Village Celebrations
26th May 2019 @ 11:00 am - 5:00 pm
One of Northumberland’s most passionate celebrators of Northumberland Day, Haydon Bridge Village, will be demonstrating just why it scooped a Northumbie Award in 2017, when it lays on yet another celebration that brings the two halves of its village together and welcome everyone in-between, resident or visitor.
This year, the celebrations see the local Shaftoe Trust Wise Academy working with the village’s dynamic ‘Get it Together Society, to put together planters that will be arranged around the village. All of this activity will take place on May 24, ready for the big day on May 26. This inclusive activity welcomes parents of children, friends and all members of the community – the essence of Northumberland Day. Wellies, boots and all manner of other things will be planted up, creating decorations that will lead from the bridge to the school – and which could even be watered by the pupils who created them on their walk to school.
There will also be brilliant celebrations on May 26 itself, in and around the churchyard, with fun galore, stalls, food and drink and live music.
