Northumberland Kayak Fishing Competition
May 25 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
£15
The Northumberland Kayak Fishing Competition is returning for the third year, this year being held on Saturday May 25 – the day before Northumberland Day. The event is a fundraiser for the RNLI and regularly sees well over 30 to 40 kayak anglers fishing each year. The event promotes safety on the water, good conduct and fish conservation and welcomes everyone from experienced kayak angler to beginner, although there is a minimum kit requirement, on safety grounds. The boundaries for this year’s competition and launch sites are Newbiggin to the north and St Mary’s island to the south, with a 2-mile outer limit. The aim is to catch the heaviest fish, with a minimum of 45cm at the weigh-in. If you love kayaking, and a spot of fishing too, it could be time to get out on the water. All monies raised go to the RNLI local fund.
